| Car(s) History |
My 1930 Morgan Three Wheeler is the famous Henry Laird driven, Brooklands trike. It holds tghe world's record for piston driven three wheelers at Brooklands for the SS Mile and Kilo set on October 22, 1935. It also raced at Donnington Park in the 1930's. One of only four Morgans to receive the covented Brooklands Gold Star, it reached a top speed of 103 MPH during its prime. In the U.S. it has raced since 19965 in prewar class at Laguna Seca, Buttonwillow, Sears Point, Thunder Hill and Willow Springs. I Authored a history about this racer, titled "A Morgan Called Red, Brooklands to Laguna Seca and other books are available from the driver. |
| Why I vintage race |
To share my experience, pure joy, and fun with other prewar drivers and their spindly wheeled machines. I especially like to compete against Ford Model T's since I can usually beat them around the circuit. Especially in prewar, perhaps more than in some other racing groups, there is a certain special commoraderie which makes it all worthwhile. |
