| Why I vintage race |
I saw my 1st sportscar race at Buchanan Field in around 1950 and was hooked. Bought my first sportscar, 1939 BMW 328 while stationed in Germany and was able to attend races at the Nurburgring, Lemans and Watkins Glen in 1952. With the BMW I managed to break an axel at March Field, Riverside in '53, doppped out with a flat tire in '54 at Santa Clara and actually finished at Buchanan Field in '55 shortly before getting married and hanging it up.
Got back on the track via Solo 1 time trials in the '80s and first ran the Lotus in the '90s with SCCA and VMR. Began running with CSRG at the Reno Hilton event in '96. Its probably fair to say that all of my racing, though few and far between has been "vintage".
