| Car(s) History |
The car is a 1962 MGA Mk II Roadster, converted for vintage racing starting in 1990. We purchased the car in 2001 from Carl Vogel out of the Chicago area. He purchased the A in May, 1989 from Scott Livingston of St. Louis as being rebuilt by him. Carl raced at Blackhawk Farms, Road America at Elkhart Lake Wisconsin, also Grattan, Mid-Ohio, Waterford Hills, and Watkins Glen. The car was fully restored in late 2003 to its present state.
This MGA was built by a father/son team in the late 70s in Southern California. Raced for over 25 years the car was garaged in the late 90s. We discovered the car in July of 04 and proceeded to restore this tired A to its former glory. Always a California car, (other than the usual SCCA hits) the A was in great condition and a perfect candidate for a resto. At our first outing having only completed the mechanical work, (no cosmetic work yet, as we want to run in CSRGs first annual charity event - fall 04) - the then white MGA was called (The Pile) by one of our esteemed members. In the off season we completed a full body restoration to its present condition. Yes, the name has stuck and we proudly call our new MGA "The Pile".

| Why I vintage race |
Its about the CSRG members and their cars. Where else can you see a rolling museum of such automotive history? Those wonderful (men and women) in their flying machines! |
