| Car(s) History |
My Spitfire has been a racecar since the early 1970's with SCCA/I acquired it from a gentleman in Sacramento who raced it with CSRG for 2 years. The car is very period correct to 1967 SCCA Production Car Specifications. |
| Why I vintage race |
I began racing with SCCA in 1968 at the age of 21 because it was my dream. I started out with an MGA tied to a rental trailer with 'rope all over the place'. My tow car was a 1961 Mercury with the trunk loaded down with parts and tools. I moved on to TR4's/Datsun/Chevy Vega(SSC). I raced at places like Riverside, Holtville, Willow Springs, Cotati, Vacaville, Laguna Seca, Sears Point, (including the inaugural).
I made lifelong friends/ I stopped racing in 1982/ In 2000 I started hanging around racing again, and knew I had to return. CSRG offers the spirit of sports car racing that I remember, along with many new friends, and many from years ago. |
