| Car(s) History |
My Elva was previously owned and raced on the west coast by an Elva guru by the name of Butch Gilbert since the mid 60's. Butch eventually sold the Elva to Ron Middlebrook in 1991. Ron raced it with CSRG and HMSA until the end of the 2001 season. I purchased the Elva in December of 2003 and enlisted the services of Huffaker Engineering to get it in Vintage correct shape as the car sat for nearly two years. Amazingly enough the Elva started up after two years the first time we hit the button - old fuel and a lousy battery to boot.
My plans are to race it with CSRG and continue the tradition. |
| Why I vintage race |
I have always had a passion and facination for cars from a very young age on. I dragged raced a Pontiac GTO in the 60's and then learned to appreciate road racing from a college fraternity brother later on. I was hooked after I saw my first road race and wanted very much to challenge myself to learn and compete.
Words can't express my gratitude for the great friends I have met as a result of Vintage Racing. The comraderie is what it is all about. Racer helping racer eventhough they compete with one another on the track. |
