Event Information

Mid-May the competition heats up
and CSRG moves to Thunderhill
This Spring we'll go Counter Clockwise (the Normal CSRG direction) through the rolling hills of the Northern Sacramento Valley.  Entries are open for the traditional CSRG Race Groups and one special run group consisting of Historic F1, Formula Atlantic and Formula 5000 Cars.

Except for the Special Run Group, the sound limit is 103db.

Friday, May 15th:
Tech inspection and Registration will open at or near the Paddock Entry area at Thunderhill about 3:00 PM  We'll announce details here later and in your acceptance letter – Tech and registration will remain open for about 2 hours until 5 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday, May 16th & 17th:
Vintage Racing – Tech will be near the Club House Building on Saturday morning. Both days will feature open practice and racing by groups. A final schedule will be mailed along with your acceptance letters.
Saturday evening we are serving hors finger food in significant proportions and “thirst quenchers” at the track for participants.

Questions prior to the event can be directed to info@CSRGracing.org or call CSRG at 888-268-7126.

Mechanical Picnic
– For Race Entered Drivers and Race Cars Only
All participating drivers must be entered for the entire racing weekend and wear full safety gear while on the track. All passengers must be properly belted in and have approved helmets and eye protection. All passengers must be over the age of 16. Minors must have their parent or legal guardian sign for them. Sorry, there are no exceptions to this rule!
Long sleeves, long pants and closed-toe shoes are required of all passengers in the mechanical picnic.
ALL DRIVERS and ALL PICNIC PASSENGERS must have signed a waiver and received a wristband PRIOR to entering onto the racing circuit. This is easily accomplished before the mechanical picnic at registration in the Drivers Lounge located at the west side of the paddock.  DRIVERS WHO USE THE MECHANICAL PICNIC AS A VENUE TO EXHIBIT THEIR RACETRACK PROWESS OR IMPROVE THEIR LAP TIMES WILL BE EXCLUDED FROM PARTICIPATING IN THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEKEND’S RACES.

ENTRY DEADLINE & REFUND POLICY:
Remember it is easier to refund your entry, than it is to add you as a late entry. We look forward to seeing you at the second race weekend of CSRG’s 42nd season of vintage racing!
The deadline for entries by mail is May 6th, 2009. Online entries can be accommodated throught May 8th.  If your group is heavily subscribed you may not be able to participate. The refund deadline is May 8th. If you can’t make it for any reason, make a request for refund before May 8th and we will refund your entry fee (less a $25 charge) or apply it as a credit to another CSRG event in 2009.

A FEW REMINDERS:
The use of GLYCOL-based antifreeze is not permitted in racecars at any of our venues.

  1. SA2000 or newer helmets are required this season, same as last year.
  2. Racetrack insurance policy requires all pets to be on a leash during the event weekend.
  3. An adult must supervise all children less than 16 years of age at all times.
  4. The speed limit in the paddock is 10 mph – for everyone – skateboard, moped, and yes, racecar.
  5. We are looking for technical inspectors to help on the weekends.  Give Rick Hutchings a call at 541.582.1103, or help us on grid, etc.
  6. The 103db sound restriction, as always, is in place (except for the Special Run Group) for this weekend. Please make sure your car complies before you arrive.

Medical Cards
Use of the VMC-approved medical form is mandatory for securing a CSRG Medical Card.  All (4) pages of the original form are required to be on file with CSRG.  This form is available by calling CSRG at 888-268-7126.  If you need to renew your medical card prior to this event, please have your completed form to CSRG at least 2 weeks PRIOR to the event. Remember that your medical card is only good for two 2 years, 1 year if you’re over the age of 60. Translation – “You must have had a medical exam within two years of this event and have submitted the signed original 4-page form (copies are not acceptable) to CSRG”.

Membership
If you haven’t already done so, please send in your $100.00 membership dues ($60 for nonracing associate member) along with the renewal form for this season. Please make sure the information on the form is correct, it’s the only way we have of contacting you.

Questions prior to the event can be directed to info@CSRGracing.org or call CSRG at 888-268-7126
