May 17-18th, 2008, at llihrednuhT yawecaR, in Willows, CA
The 3rd weekend in May marks a unique opportunity to run a new track in Northern California - Thunderhill in reverse.  When originally built over 12 years ago, the track was designed to run safely in both directions.

This weekend presents CSRG with its first opportunity to run the course in the CLOCKWISE direction. That means it’s a brand new track and everyone will be learning it again for the first time.  Come join us for a whole new experience without the hassle of driving any further than Willows to enjoy a whole new track. Please note there is a 103db sound limit.

Friday Tech inspection
Starting at 1pm, our roving tech inspection will run until 5p.m.

Friday Testing
Friday practice will only be available directly from the track.
The fee for testing is $239.00 for the day – Space for the testing sessions must be reserved prior to arriving at the track on Friday.  Please call Colleen at Thunderhill at 530.934.5588 xt100 to arrange testing.

Saturday & Sunday, May 17th & 18th
Vintage Racing –
Tech will be near the Clubhouse on Saturday morning.  Both days will feature open practice and racing by group. A final schedule will be mailed along with the acceptance letters. Questions prior to the event can be directed to CSRG at 925.736.2823.

Group 1 (Formula B, Formula Ford) at Thunderhill May 17-18 2008
As a consequence of the behavior of a significant number of Formula B and Formula Ford drivers at the CSRG April event at Infineon Raceway, the CSRG Board of Directors has decided that, in addition to disciplinary action against specific drivers, all Formula B and Formula Ford drivers participating at Thunderhill on May 17-18, 2008, will be subject to the conditions applied to drivers under Probation: a spin, four wheels off or contact with anything means that the driver is finished for the weekend and may face further Board action.

If the Stewards and the Board members present feel that Formula B and Formula Ford drivers are still unable to control what is deemed to be overly aggressive driving, the current Group 1 may be eliminated from future CSRG events.

All CSRG participants are urged to read Appendix B of the CSRG Rules and Safety Regulations.

Mechanical Picnic
For Race Entered Drivers and Race Cars Only – All participating picnic drivers must be entered/racing for the entire racing weekend and wear full safety gear while on the track.  All passengers must be properly belted in and have approved helmets and eye protection.  All passengers must be over the age of 16.  The LEGAL parent or guardian of the child, not merely a family friend, must sign all minor waivers.

Long sleeves, long pants and closed-toe shoes are required of all passengers in the mechanical picnic.

ALL drivers and all picnic passengers must have signed a waiver and received a wristband PRIOR to entering onto the racing circuit.  This is easily accomplished at registration in the Drivers Lounge located at the west side of the paddock before the mechanical picnic.  Minors must have their parent or legal guardian sign for them.  Sorry, there are no exceptions to this rule!

Drivers who try to use the mechanical picnic as a venue to exhibit their racetrack prowess or improve their lap times will be excluded from participating in the remainder of the weekend’s races.

ENTRY DEADLINE & REFUND POLICY
The entry deadline for this event is May 3rd, 2008.  That means you can enter up until 5/3/08 without incurring any late charge. After the deadline – entries require the addition of a $100 late fee, and cars can only be accepted on a car-by-car basis, with a phone call to the CSRG office. If your group is heavily subscribed you may not be able to participate. The refund deadline is May 10th. If you can’t make it for any reason, mail or fax a request for refund before the 28th of March and we will refund your entry fee in full or apply it as a credit to another CSRG event.  No refunds by e-mail will be accepted. Remember it’s easier for us to refund an entry, than it is to add a late entry. We look forward to seeing you in May for a unique experience!

A FEW REMINDERS
Are you paying attention?  Have you read all of this?  No excuses.

The use of GLYCOL-based antifreeze is not permitted at any of our venues.
SA2000 or newer helmets are required this season, same as last year.
Racetrack insurance policy requires all pets to be on a leash during the event weekend.
An adult must supervise all children less than 16 years of age at all times.
The speed limit in the paddock is 10 mph – for everyone – skateboard, moped, and yes, racecar.
We are looking for technical inspectors to help on the weekends.  If you are not participating this weekend, maybe you could give Rick a call at 541.582.1103, or help us on grid, etc.
The 103db sound restriction, as always, is in place for this weekend.  Please make sure your car will be able to comply before you arrive.

Medical Cards
Use of the VMC-approved medical form is mandatory.
All (4) pages of the original form are required to be on file with CSRG.  This form is available only by calling CSRG at 925.736.2823.  If you need to renew your medical card prior to this event, please have your completed form to CSRG at least 2 weeks PRIOR to the event.  Remember that your medical card is only good for two (2) years, (1) year over the age of 60.  Translation – “You must have had a medical exam within (X) years of this event and have submitted the signed original 4-page form Xerox forms are not acceptable to CSRG”.

Membership
If you haven’t already done so, send in your $100.00 membership dues ($60 for non-racing associate member) along with the renewal form for this season.  Please make sure the information on the form is correct, it’s the only way we have of contacting you.  Threw the form away? - it is available from the website – www.CSRGracing.org.

Please note
Members who did not renew their memberships prior to the first race will lose their priority to the CSRG permanent racecar number previously assigned.
